Acupuncture has been used for 2,000 years to effectively and safely treat an array of conditions including pain, headaches/migraines, women’s health, seasonal allergies, colds and flus, stress, digestive issues, emotional and mental wellness, and immune disorders. The World Health Organization (WHO) has an extensive list of disorders where acupuncture has been proven to be extremely effective.
Acupuncture works by inserting tiny sterile needles in certain points to trigger the body’s healing mechanisms. It regulates the immune system, improves circulation, balances the nervous system, and reduces stress hormones like cortisol.
For your first session, your health history form will be emailed to you. Please have it completed by the time of your appointment or arrive 20 min early to fill it out in the waiting room. We recommend having a meal/snack a few hours before your treatment. During the treatment, we will discuss your complaints, health history, and treatment goals. This is a great time to bring all your questions and concerns. After that, the needles are inserted at specific points and are retained for 30-40 minutes. At the end of the treatment, we will set up a treatment plan to get you feeling better as quickly as possible, potentially including recommendations for additional therapies or lifestyle/diet changes. Like going to the gym, acupuncture’s benefits are cumulative. For acute or severe complaints, acupuncture is recommended 2-3 times a week for a period of time before tapering visits down. Please allow an hour for each treatment.

Private treatments are held in a smaller room allowing for more one-on-one time with your acupuncturist. Private acupuncture is most often utilized for more severe health issues or when access to the back, hips or shoulders is necessary. A variety of additional modalities can be used which are not available in the community setting, including cupping, herbal foot soaks, and heat therapy.
Pediatric treatments ($50) are available with Katie Clifton (more information HERE). These treatments tend to be shorter and are very gentle, using cupping, acupressure/acupuncture and heat-therapy. These treatments can be helpful for many childhood ailments, including digestive issues, allergies, ear aches, and rashes.
All private treatments are up the stairs on the left. The waiting room is to your right at the top of the stairs.
$35 – CASH ONLY (discounted membership available)
Community treatments take place in a larger room, in a reclining chair alongside other patients. Needling is kept to points on the arms and legs, and occasionally the head or abdomen. White noise and calming music fills the room and you are swaddled in blankets and pillows for maximum relaxation and comfort. Please dress in comfortable clothing that can be easily rolled up to the elbow and knee (or bring clothes to change into). During these visits, patients will pay for their treatments at the self-check-in station. Community acupuncture is on the ground floor, through Garden Song Café.
NADA Protocol (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association Protocol):
$10 – CASH ONLY
NADA treatments take place in the Community Clinic, on the ground floor. The protocol is a 5-point combination in each ear that is used to amplify the body’s detox mechanisms, and reduce cravings. This protocol is used widely for addiction recovery, smoking cessation, PTSD/Trauma support. The needles are inserted with no verbal intake; there is no re-living and re-telling the potential issues or trauma and we let the body-mind take over healing. You rest for 20-30 min with the needles. It is a great way to support yourself in making new habits.
